Charles Hord, Executive Vice President of TCA
Charles Hord was raised on a diversified family farm just outside of Murfreesboro founded by his great, great grandfather in the 1840’s. His family operated a dairy as well as raising beef cattle, sheep, swine, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1996 with a degree in Agriculture Business and Economics with a minor in Animal Science. He received his J.D. from the Nashville School of Law in 2012.
After graduating from UT, he began working for Murphy Farms, the nation’s largest pork producer, in North Carolina. He also worked for the Kroger Company and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture before joining the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association in 2008. He enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his wife Marla, daughter Teddy Anne, and son Wheeler.
