Executive Director

The Farm Animal Care Coalition of Tennessee (FACCT) is seeking an individual to serve as our Executive Director. This position is a 40 hour a week full-time position based in Tennessee. The ideal candidate will have a background in agriculture and experience working with livestock. This person will have knowledge of animal welfare and an appreciation for the work farmers and ranchers do provide food for our country. Resumes and cover letters will be accepted until April 15. Candidates will be notified and interviews will be conducted until a qualified candidate is identified. Tentative Starting Date May 2019.

 

Duties Include:

Work with partner organizations in coordinating and assisting in animal welfare emergencies

Organize annual Livestock 911 conference(s) in conjunction with Tn. Sherriff's Association

Participate in District Attorney Continuing Education meetings and provide content for judicial officials dealing with Livestock Issues.

Produce and disseminate positive animal agriculture message to groups both inside and outside our industry through speaking engagements, social media, website and news releases

Maintain accurate and up to date financial documents (Quickbooks) and donor information

Schedule regular Board of Director meetings

 

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be a self- starter and self- motivated to work on behalf of animal agriculture.

  • A four-year degree in agriculture or a related field

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Quickbooks

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written

  • Knowledge of operating standard office equipment

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

  • Awareness and practice of sound fundraising principles

 

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications

All candidates will be notified and final candidates will be interviewed by the selection committee.
