Again this year, Martin Farms is hosting the Wlm. Kenneth Ambrose Memorial Heifer Scholarship contest in conjunction with the Seedstock Connection Sale, September 25-26, 2020. The 2020 Donors for the Memorial Heifer Scholarship are: Water's Edge Farm, Running Springs Cattle Company, Williams Brothers Simmental, and Martin Farms.
The Wlm. Kenneth Ambrose Memorial Heifer Scholarship is a program designed to foster an opportunity for growth and development of youth interested in agriculture, to encourage youth involvement in the beef cattle project, and to give industry youth an opportunity to express creative ideas.
Each 2020 donor will award one $1,500 voucher toward the purchase of a weaned, registered Simmental, SimAngus, or Angus heifer calf at the 2020 Seedstock Connection Production Sale on September 26, 2020 to be held in Franklin, Tennessee. Each donor will have available at least one animal valued at $1,500. Winners may chose a heifer of the value of the voucher or may use the voucher with additional monies to purchase any eligible heifer from that donor. Deserving alternates may also receive credit vouchers redeemable at The Seedstock Connection Sale, September 26, 2020.
Deadline: Applications and qualifying projects must be IN HAND on or before Monday, September 21, 2020. Eligibility of any entry received after the deadline will be determined by the number of entries and qualified applicants received. No entry received after the selection and notification of finalists will be eligible.
