Youth Beef Industry Tour

The Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association (TCA) and Tennessee Cattlemen’s Youth Association (TCYA) Youth Beef Industry Tour is more than a field trip—it’s a behind-the-scenes look at the beef industry and the many careers within it. Students will visit leading cattle operations and industry facilities while meeting professionals such as veterinarians, nutritionists, reproduction specialists, meat scientists, and more. Along the way, participants will learn about career opportunities, build leadership skills, and connect with other students and industry professionals. Whether you’re interested in science, agriculture, business, or exploring future career paths, this tour offers a unique hands-on experience that could help shape your future.

2026 Tour Info

This year, TCA and TCYA are heading to Indiana for the 2026 Youth Beef Industry Tour July 27-July 29. 

This educational tour will explore many aspects of the cattle and agricultural industry. Juniors will get first-hand experience in animal nutrition, beef marketing, networking with producers about careers, beef cattle production, as well as dairy cattle and pork production, and beef cattle research and education opportunities.  These stops will include Umbarger Feeds, Purdue University’s Beef Unit, Fair Oaks Farms, and Cates Farms.  

This program is open to incoming high school sophomores through second year undergraduate studies at a Tennessee school. (will be a high school sophomore for the 2026-2027 school year and will be a second-year student for 2026-2027 school year).  Participants must be Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association youth member.
