The Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association (TCA) will award three scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year. These are $600 scholarships and will be awarded to outstanding students who are pursuing careers in the beef industry. Fields of study may include education, communications, production, research, or any other area involved with the beef industry. The purpose of this program is to identify and encourage talented and thoughtful students who will emerge as industry leaders.
The application process will be evaluated 50% on an essay describing how the agriculture/cattle industry has prepared the applicant for further education, and 50% based on involvement in 4-H, FFA, and other agriculture organizations. The application also includes a letter of reference. The applicant must be a Tennessee Cattlemen’s Youth Association member, the child/grandchild of a TCA.
“TCA is committed to the future of the cattle industry in Tennessee,” said Melinda Perkins, TCA Director of Youth Programs & Outreach. “We are proud to be able to support our young cattlemen and women with these educational scholarships.”
The 2023 scholarship application must be received by June 1, 2023. More information, including application requirements and the application, can be found in the April and May issues of the Tennessee Cattle Business magazine and on the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association website.
